Inspired by the tarot, I created the The Money Tree ritual under the new moon in Virgo. It is a four part series showing how to use spiritual practices to materialize abundance in the material world. In the tarot, earth is represented by pentacles or diamonds, coins, jewels, gifts and money. Earth energy is tangible. It is rich soil and dry sand; it is thick mud and the green grass. It is the element that gives shape to water, holds fire within its belly and is invisible as it travels with the wind. Virgo season is best represented by the Queen of Pentacles. Revered for her ability to patiently nurture and multiply all things, she inspires nobility and sacrifice. September is a serious month for setting up new goals, entering into higher education, taking on serious commitments and preparing for the future. Virgo is the graceful transition from summer to fall; a return to earth energy. We learned from Taurus to have long term vision and a fixed focus on the goal. The seeds planted in spring yield to the fall harvest; the hearth shall be plentiful for Capricorn season and beyond. The final quarter of the year is rounded up with the last of the three earth signs. Symbolized by the King of Pentacles, Capricorns rule money, ambition and success. The Ace of Diamonds is the opportunity to come full circle in the material world; a full tour around the zodiac wheel of life. We start out as the page with an idea that we develop as we become knights; we travel to meet the King with the perfect plan to protect the Queen. It is the slow evolution that wins.
